I have been working together with photographer Denton for a few years now so it was really nice to finally meet him and his wife Teresa.
On this special evening he treated me to dinner at restaurant Asiate at the Mandarin Hotel in New York.As you can see, the view from our table was spectacular.
I decided to wear my new Kenzo dress that I acquired at the sales for a bargain price (some amazing Kenzo pieces on sale at Yoox; just search for Kenzo). I paired it with my old trusted red rote and red Loewe sunnies.
For the second time in a row Teresa had dressed surprisingly similar! We had to laugh about our synchronicity in picking clothes.
Teresa is wearing a Prada dress from Michael’s Consignment Shop on Madison Avenue. Shoes are Chanel via TheRealReal ($68!). Cateye glasses from See Optical. That red pocketbook is a very early pre-AWL Dooney & Bourke (Teresa collects early D&B). And she never takes off her FitBit.
Based on a conversation we had with Valerie of the Idiosyncratic Fashionistas, who is a Japanese textile expert, Denton decided to impress me by wearing a Jhane Barnes shirt. Jhane Barnes often uses textile patterns so intricate that the only place that can manufacture that fabric is Japan. The shirt was made in Hong Kong from Japanese-made fabric. Like most men, when Denton finds something he likes, he buys it in bulk, so he has a collection of Jhane Barnes shirts and ties sourced on ebay. The trousers are Brooks Brothers and the jacket is Burberry.
After diner Denton showed me Lincoln Center where fashion week previously took place and where he took many of his pictures.
